Fundacion Aspro Natura was established in Gran Canaria (Canary Islands) in 1984. Currently the foundation is a non-profit environmental institution that operates from all Group Aspro’s zoological parks in Spain, investing private, financial and material resources in a wide range of conservation, education and research activities.
On November 23rd 1999, the Under Secretariat of the Department for the Environment authorized the registration of Fundacion Aspro Natura in the Environmental Foundations Registry.
The Foundation’s goals are the following:
- To contribute to the protection of nature and the environment
- To raise public awareness of the importance of the conservation of the biodiversity
- To develop educational and leisure activities for people with special needs
