EUROPEAN SHARK WEEK IN MARINELAND


The 2nd European Shark Week celebrated from the 11th to 17 th October, was a succes in MARINELAND CATALUÑA and MARINELAND MALLORCA.

 



This initiative was promoted by the Shark Alliance and Oceana, and was coordinated in Spain and Portugal by AIZA (Iberian Association of Zoos and Aquaria).

 



The main activity which took place was a school drawing competition: "What, to you, is a shark?", more than 800 children participated from diferents schools in Catalonia and Majorca.

 



The winners of each category received a pack of Staedler school material and a Super Shark Pass which consists in a ticket for the winner and his family to one of the 10 participating centres.

 



More than 600 signatures were also collected, wich added to the 30.000 gathered at all around Europe, supporting the petition for a law against shark fishing.
